HUMAN RIGHTS STAN

 

The Royal Guardian Party (RGP) has a comprehensive stance on human rights, which includes the following key policies:

  1. Ending Discrimination:
    • Committed to ending discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, language, gender, age, sexual orientation, or disability status. ​
    • Advocating for nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people and ensuring full access to needed health care and resources. ​
  2. Social Justice and Equity:
    • Addressing the extreme gap in household wealth and income, particularly in southern provinces/counties. ​
    • Supporting policies to end discrimination and unfair practices in the housing market. ​
    • Empowering governments to combat gentrification trends that disproportionately affect residents of poor areas. ​
  3. Protecting Women’s Rights:
    • Guaranteeing equal rights for women and gender equality. ​
    • Taking aggressive action to end pay inequality and increasing penalties against companies that discriminate against women. ​
    • Ending sexual assault, domestic abuse, and other violence against women, including violence against LGBTQ+ communities. ​
    • Ensuring access to high-quality reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortion. ​
  4. Protecting LGBTQ+ Rights:
    • Advocating for equal treatment under the law and in society for LGBTQ+ people. ​
    • Expanding mental health and suicide prevention services and banning harmful “conversion therapy” practices. ​
    • Ensuring that transgender and non-binary people can procure official government identification documents that accurately reflect their gender identity. ​
    • Ending the homelessness crisis among LGBTQ+ youth and prioritizing the investigation of hate crimes against transgender and non-binary people. ​
  5. Protecting Disability Rights:
    • Supporting people with disabilities to lead full, happy, and healthy lives. ​
    • Expanding early childhood screening and promoting equitable treatment of students with disabilities in schools. ​
    • Eliminating waiting lists for home and community-based care and expanding support for informal caregivers. ​
  6. Freedom of Religion and Speech:
    • Standing up for freedom of religion and freedom of speech. ​
    • Defending freedom of the press and pushing back against the erosion of press freedom. ​
  7. Human Trafficking and Modern-Day Slavery:
    • Fighting human trafficking and striving to end modern-day slavery. ​
    • Strengthening diplomatic efforts to combat forced labor and commercial sexual exploitation. ​
  8. Labor Rights:
    • Ensuring that trade agreements include enforcement provisions for workers’ rights. ​
    • Supporting the rights of unions and workers to organize and collectively bargain. ​
  9. Global Human Rights Advocacy:
    • Promoting gender equality and protecting sexual and reproductive health and rights globally. ​
    • Advancing the ability of all persons to live with dignity, security, and respect, regardless of their identity. ​
    • Encouraging partner countries and international organizations to address the needs of persons with disabilities. ​
